Here is a brief overview on how I approach the content creation process,
I'm a firm believer in the saying 'framework before work'. The foundations are essential for success. Think about it. You wouldn't build a home without a strong foundation, right? Same case with your branding/social media presence. Before we get to the work, the first step I take is to craft a framework for the content strategy. The framework will then drive the other processes.
This research will be a crucial aspect of the strategy as it enables me to identify the best performing content and then form a hypothesis for the type of content to create. The hypothesis is all about finding out what made the content successful and what key elements we can extract from the top-performing content and leverage in our content. Ill then share these with you to get your opinion and also insights as an expert in the space if you choose to share any information that is.
At this stage, Ill ask for any branding assets and materials you may have as Ill need to use them in the next stage. so logos, colour palletes etc, these are the things Ill be requesting from your end
with those I'm collaborating with in the project to get their opinion. These drafts are based on the hypothesis mentioned in the previous step. The drafts contain content I predict will perform best. I get feedback from the individuals and iterate if needed, if there's changes needed to be made I then make them according to the feedback provided. I have skills in both graphic and video content creation using multiple software from canva, photoshop, the adobe suite etc, so I'm able to adapt to different content forms.
Everything should be greenlighted and good to go. I then do a final review on my end and schedule the content for posting. I usually use a scheduler to distribute the content. I'm familiar with buffer, Hootsuite, and feedhive, among other scheduling platforms, both free and paid plans.
After the content has been posted, I analyse the performance metrics to get the crucial data needed to determine the project's success. Usually, I listen for engagement, analyse the distribution on various social platforms, and look into feedback from the audience. Some examples of questions that drive my decision making are... What content does the audience prefer? Why do they prefer a particular type of content over another? What elements from the hypothesis were successful, and where can we iterate and make changes?
Finally, I make changes and iterate the ongoing content according to the feedback and insights I've collected while doubling down on the best performing content. As the saying goes, success leaves clues, and I use the clues from previously successful content to create more content and build up a content bank with standout proven-to-work content.
