Their goal

Create engaging content and grow their social media presence

Having had their accounts dormant, Harry, the founder wanted someone to maintain their social media and create content that would drive traffic to their website.

Role

I was brought on to help create content for their social media and help Harry revitalize their social media accounts which had been dormant for a while. The platforms I handled were majorly Instagram Twitter and Facebook.

Steps

The steps taken towards making the project a success were as follows (timeline below)

Onboarding

Harry and I set up a call to formalize ourselves with each other as well as with the scope of the project.

Project kicks off

With everything smoothened out, and the necessary details exchanged, work commenced. I created some content samples and shared some ideas about content I had in mind.

The implementation phase

I started working on the first phase of the project, which was creating a content strategy and a theme for the social media accounts. I also establised a content strategy for the accounts.

Phase 2

We moved into the second phase of the project and got started with the distribution of the content and profile optimisation, as well as growing their followers.

The Youth CO:LAB Virtual Summit

The summit kicked off and we were able to hook and lure in an active audience, boost the watch time and video retention as well as double the subscribers.

Challenges

Some of the major challenges faced in the project were the fact that the account had been dormant for a while and therefore re-engaging them was quite difficult. However we used ads and promoted the posts to consistently reach a wider audience.

THE WIN

Success

Working together with Harry, we efficiently leveraged effective marketing strategies to impact the account and hit the key performance indicators. Some examples of the results we were able to achieve were; 

  • 4730% increase in accounts reached
  • 8.3% increase in accounts engaged
  • 8.6% increase in followers
  • 690.9% increase in mentions
